Formula & Calculation Method
Heart Age Calculation Model:
The calculator uses a points-based cardiovascular risk model derived from the Framingham Risk Score (D'Agostino et al., 2008) for non-laboratory assessment.
Points are accumulated based on:
- Chronological Age: Baseline risk increases with age.
- Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP): Higher SBP accumulates points; additional points are added if the user is treated with antihypertensive medication.
- Cholesterol Ratio (Total / HDL): Calculated as TC/HDL. Optimal is 3.5 or less. High ratios accumulate points.
