How Does the Ruble Inflation & Purchasing Power Calculator Work?
Enter the starting sum of rubles. Choose the starting year and the target ending year (between 2000 and 2026). The calculator compounds the official annual inflation rates published by Rosstat for each year in the range and outputs the adjusted value and net purchasing power loss.
Formula & Calculation Method
Adjusted Value = Starting Amount × Cumulative Inflation Multiplier. The cumulative multiplier is the product of (1 + annual_inflation_rate ÷ 100) for each year in the range. Purchasing Power Loss % = (1 - 1 ÷ Cumulative Multiplier) × 100.
Example Calculation
100,000 ₽ in 2015 adjusted to 2026: Compounding annual rates (12.91% in 2015, 5.38% in 2016, etc.) results in a cumulative inflation multiplier of approximately 2.05. This means 100,000 ₽ in 2015 has the same purchasing power as 205,000 ₽ in 2026, representing a 51.22% loss in the currency's real value.
